ABOUT THE DRONE INDUSTRY BAROMETER WHITE PAPER

This white paper provides insights into the opinions and perspectives coming directly from the drone industry. It is based on a survey which was conducted in August 2021 and which received almost 700 responses from 64 countries

We gathered responses from industry stakeholders from across all three segments (hardware, software, services). The survey covered a wide range of topics including company size, application methods used, reasons to adopt drones, priorities for the next year, and perspectives on market-driving factors.

Another key topic addressed in the Drone Industry Barometer is the way expectations by drone companies match with their experienced reality. Since the barometer is a yearly survey, it allows us to progressively assess how expectations and reality evolve from year to year. Given the impact of the coronavirus in 2020 and 2021, this topic played a major role on the expectations and reality of drone companies. Interestingly, towards the end of the pandemic companies have even higher expectations than they did before it, and they expect the long-term impact to be more positive than negative.

In short, the Drone Industry Barometer provides a yearly review of what drone experts across the world have experienced and how they foresee the industry will develop. It touches on the latest topics while providing continuity with previous editions in order to deliver the most comprehensive understanding of the state of the drone industry.
