Jump the Learning Curve with Drone Applications Database

Our inaugural Drone Applications database is DRONEII’s answer to the many questions about the nature of drone applications that we regularly receive from our clients. In essence, it is a comprehensive overview of current and past use cases of drones in all industry sectors.

In the Drone Applications Report, the DRONEII team analysed over 730 use cases, conducted in over 100 different countries and by over 80 different manufacturers.

To produce this dataset, we carried out a thorough market study together with the ZAL Centre of Applied Aeronautical Research. The research was conducted over several months and gathered use cases dated between 2004 and 2018.

Our team then broke down these use cases and analysed them to show you the existing trends between different manufacturers, industrial sectors, UAV configurations, sensor types and many more parameters.

The database is easily manipulated and downloadable to support your research needs.

Meanwhile, the accompanying PDF report contains comprehensive analysis and expert synthesis in easy-to-understand graphs in order to show you the prevailing trends when it comes to previous applications of drones (with no reference to future trends or market shares).

“Full of insights into the existing trends associated with drone applications as well as illuminating examples, this report provides its readers with an unprecedented look at the commercial applications of drones.”

Drone Applications Database is ideal for:

The first chapter provides a data overview, breaking down the use cases by date, location, UAV configuration and more. It discusses industry leaders and what they offer within the market. Chapter 2 focuses on industry break downs: in addition to showing which industries employ drones and to what extent, it delves into the application methods these industries use, the types of sensors each uses and much more.

Next, Chapter 3 breaks down the data by application method: showing you how many use cases were inspections, how many were deliveries, and so on. It provides an empirical overview of what sensors and UAV configurations are most suitable to each application method.

The final chapter focuses on length and parameters of flights i.e. mission definitions. Discussing VLOS vs. BVLOS flights, it gives a rundown of which industries embark on which flights and what sort of data output they seek.

“We see great potential to boost efficiency and reduce costs through the application of drones in diverse industries. Early adopters will have a strong competitive advantage if they do it now and do it right.”
